Let's Keep Section 179 Strong for 2016 and Beyond!

We Did It! But We're Not Done...
On 10/15/2015, we presented Congress with a petition to raise Section 179 back to $500,000, and to also stop lowering the limit every year. At the time of delivery, the petition had well over 10,000 signatures from small and medium businesspeople from all across the United States.

We argued that businesses deserved to know the deduction will be there for them. Congress responded by raising the limit to $500,000, and also made the deduction permanent, with inflation escalators built in for a few years as well.

But We Know Nothing is Permanent in Washington...
...which is why we stay vigilant. We'll always keep you abreast of any Section 179 developments, and we always want congress to know that we are united in wanting a business-friendly tax code and a healthy Section 179 deduction. Adding your name to our growing list of business professionals helps us do both.

Section179.org is interested in your opinion regarding Section 179 limits. So is Congress.
Small and Medium businesses, which are the lifeblood of the U.S. Economy, are the biggest beneficiaries of Section 179. In short, this tax deduction encourages them to invest in their businesses by buying new (or new to them) equipment. Section 179 is good for the companies that use the deduction to buy needed equipment, it’s good for the equipment manufacturers who they buy from, and it’s good for the overall economy.
